Wild mustangs and burros are a challenge out here in the west. They are a federally protected historical species, and yet with no natural predators their populations have exceed the capacity of the land. Wild horse gathers, like the one pictured here, are employed to administer contraceptives to mares. This foal trotted around the enclosure for upwards of 10 minutes before he was roped by cowboys. What a cutie!
